MY NOTES: 'RANDOM STUFF'

Hiya people!

I've just finished looking through some of my notes on my iPod and came across one titled 'Random stuff' which sounded interesting. And in there, there's literally just random stuff I've picked up over time...

Here are some of the things I'd written (word for word):

Basia coquum - kiss the cook

This is from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, I assume I thought it was funny whilst reading it, but it kinda doesn't work as well without a bit of context...

The prince has a big gaping wound in his side - Fang

I don't know why this is here... I know where it's from, but I still don't get it. This needs context, asap. And by the way, it's from the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson.

Fairy dew!!!

There was a period of time when I was obsessed with Artemis Fowl (by Eoin Colfer) and fairy dew is a little thing my friend and I made up.
I also seem to have been obsessed with exclamation marks too...

A symphony of whites...a concerto of blacks. (Why?)

This one coming from the Young Sherlock Holmes book series by Andrew Lane... I remember I was puzzled as to why the whites are a symphony and the blacks are a concerto, and to this day, I still don't have a clue. I sort of gave up thinking about it and just left it in my notes...

Ain't no party like a passive party 'cause a passive party has bantur

This one comes from Tumblr and came via a friend of mine. It's a Latin joke, which I find absolutely hilarious. I can't really explain this one to those who don't know Latin, and to those who do, good for you. You should understand it ;)

Archaeologists digging in a pyramid in Egypt have found a mummy covered in chocolate and nuts. Experts believe it to be Pharoah Roche.

Another one from my friend, which was probably from another social media site. This one's just...speechless... I love it!

Random...but kinda cute. I don't remember where that's from.

But that's all from my 'random stuff' notes page. Yeah...lots of nerdy stuff, and random stuff...

And ignore the arrows at the bottom of the box if it shows up for you... I don't know how it got there... Honestly... Kinda...

❤️

I love y'all, and goodbye!

DECEMBER/JANUARY FAVOURITES

Hi, my darling friends! I've got another favourites post - don't the months pass quickly?!

Food:

Cadbury's Crispello is just gorgeous! I'm currently eating (literally whilst writing this) the double chocolate one...shnummy!

Songs:

Secrets by OneRepublic - This song is so...ugh! I can't even describe it. To anyone else, it might just be any other song, but after reading a rather well-written Wattpad story (that's a surprise! jk) this song means so much more to be now. And every time I listen to it - the feels it gives...*shivers just from thinking about it*

Paralyzer by Finger Eleven - 'I'm not paralyzed, but I seem to be struck by you'...I listened to this song on repeat for nearly a whole week. I like it a lot :)

Film:

Mr. Popper's Penguins - one the most hilarious, cutest, and saddest films that I can never get bored of, and I've watched it four times already. It's just too cute it makes me want to cry (even more)!

YouTuber:

Skydoesminecraft - I am obsessed. I've even stopped watching some of the videos I usually watch from the other YouTubers I'm subscribed to, just so that I can have a Skydoesminecraft video marathon. I love him so much, he's just too hilarious <3

BUDDER!!

Podcast:

In case you haven't realised - it's Welcome to Night Vale. This podcast is so different...I've listened to a few podcasts recently, all of which are those "so tell me more about your life" sorts - various YouTubers especially. Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig is another podcast I'm enjoying, but I still haven't been listening to it non-stop like I have with Welcome to Night Vale.

The thing I most like about WTNV is the weirdness, but the voice is so sincere, it almost makes the weirdness seem normal. I really recommend getting the podcast app on your iPhone or iPad and listening to it.

And by the way, I ship Carlos and Cecil so bad, I end up getting a heartache when I think about them.

No really... I'm not even kidding.

Clothing:

I've been loving Bershka recently - it's a sort of unknown clothing brand, but has really cute clothes. Their sizes are really small, though - I'm an S/M with them.

I have two new skirts from Bershka - a black floral neoprene skirt and a white skater skirt. They're both adorable and perfect for both winter and summer.

❤️

Anyways, those are my favourites of the past month...s, I guess.

So...

I love y'all, and goodbye!

'RESOLUTIONS' FOR THE NEW YEAR

Hi y'all

I haven't been on here in ages...

So school started on Monday 5th. That's what happened. Although nothing much is happening at school at the moment, I still can't have my late sleep-ins. On Monday at lunch, I sat in the canteen, stared at the clock for a while, and realised that in the holidays I woke up at that time.

I've also been addicted to Wattpad and YouTube right now and haven't got enough will-power to get myself to write anything. But I'd just say my excuse is that I've been 'busy'.

Sorry

I mean nothing much has been going on.

I guess there's been the start of the new year, and I haven't really done anything on my blog for it. No list of resolutions, things I accomplished, reasons why last year was my best year, or reasons why this year will be better.

Have you made any new year resolutions? I know it's been a week into 2015 already, but have you broken any? I usually fail mine in the first 24 hours. Last year, for example, I promised myself that I would write in my diary and on my blog. I guess that turned out badly - I can't even find my diary anymore.

I haven't made 'resolutions' as such, more like 'ways-I-can-improve-myself'. And I don't plan on sticking to them all the time, it's just a few general tips to myself. And I tried to keep them realistic. I hate it when people make resolutions such as "I'm going to do 5 hours of exercise each day". Unless you have a job which consists of only sports, or you don't have a job at all, then that's not possible.

Anyways...

I guess the first one is to be nicer to people. I realised the past year I've been really grouchy and become irritated easily. I mean I haven't been doing a very good job so far...but I really need to be nicer to people around me.

Another is to be less awkward in social situations. I'm not talking about a whole change in personality, I just want to be more outgoing and be able to actually talk to people. I used to have a friend, but then our friend groups were really different so we kinda just stopped talking. Now it's really awkward to talk to her and I never know what to say. So I want to be able to be myself around her, and others, rather than think too hard about what to say.

Too deep, I'm sorry :/

And I guess you can't start a new year without a goal associated with health or fitness. So, finally, I also want to keep a watch on what I eat this year. I've tried setting myself fitness goals, but I can never be bothered to do anything physical. And I don't exactly want to go on a diet or lose weight. This goal is mainly just getting me to eat a bit more healthily. Stuff like eating more vegetables, eating more of the foods that are good for you, and drinking more water.

It also means to cut down on chocolate (not doing well so far - I've had exactly 4 and a half 100g chocolate bars, as well as others, in the past week), sweets, fizzy drinks, and other foods which I eat purely for the pleasure of the taste and happy feeling I get. I get high on sweets ;)

These are my main goals. Obviously, throughout the year, I'll make other smaller goals, which will be much less vague and more...refined? I don't even know if that's the right word... But anyways, that will be for another day.

❤️

Well, I guess that's all for today. From the short post I expected this to be, to the long post it turned out to be.

I love y'all, and goodbye!

THE THEORY OF...FIRE!

Hello!

I went to watch The Theory of Everything avec mon amie (a bit of French), although things did not go as expected...

Dun dun DUN!

Halfway through the film, there was a sudden announcement that everyone had to leave through the emergency exits. There were no alarms or security guards running to get us all out of the theatre though, it was really calm, so everyone just stayed sitting for like two minutes.

Finally, a few people left, so my friend and I decided to get up too. It was only when we had exited the theatre room when we heard people talking about a fire and there were actually workers telling us to leave. But I'm not kidding, inside the room we all thought that it was a joke, no one told us what was happening. Just an announcement that went on for five seconds.

So we all left. a long trickling line through the back door of the cinema. Which was lovely, because it led us straight to the rubbish bins and bags dumped on the path outside.

None of us knew what was happening, or where to go. It was just apparently a fire, which I think turned out to be a false alarm judging by the fire engine which was parked on the opposite side of the car park to the cinema, and it stayed there the whole time I was outside.

After around twenty minutes, we were allowed back in. They announced that the films would start from the last part we watched, but they didn't. So after we all felt our way through the darkness to our seats, for the next part of the film, I didn't know what was going on. Thank you, Vue, thank you very much.

And then finally, when the film finished and the lights turned back on, we found a woman lying on the floor with a crowd forming around her. She had, according to a very loud shouter standing beside her, 'broken a leg'. I don't know how or when, but if the person had broken a leg, she was very quiet about it... When I left the cinema, an ambulance came.

Well, what a crazy first day of the year. If all the days of 2015 are like this, I'm going to write a story about it, or produce a film.

Anyways, this became very long, so I'll leave you all now to your own businesses.

❤️

I love y'all so much. Have a happy new year, and may this year be the best for everyone. Goodbye!
