LONELY ON VALENTINE'S DAY?

Well, hello!

So...it's Valentine's Day. Are you sharing this love-filled day with your one and only? Have you given your roses? Been invited on a romantic date? If you have, then...

Good for you. Whatever. Congrats, I guess.

*Sigh*

Anyone joining me in the loners club?

You know, being alone today isn't too bad:

Well firstly, if you're by yourself, all that food that would have been shared, goes completely to you! So you get to stuff your face, and without the fear of someone staring at you whilst you greedily eat everything.

You can also do so much more - there's no need to spend the time to prepare a meal or go out on a date. Us singletons are so productive, whether it's reading, doing a hobby, pampering yourself, or obsessively watching films and videos all day, you can still get a lot of stuff done.

You can check people out without feeling like your cheating. And that includes drooling over 'hot boys' you've searched for on the Internet. Which is another thing you can to do if you're single and free to mingle ;)

There's no drama - no chance of catching the drama disease, a contagious illness which effects couples everywhere. I've heard the symptoms are screaming, shouting and crying over nothing, and in some worse cases, a breakup. Dun dun DUN!

After today, guess what? There'll be another Valentine's Day next year, and another, and another. There's a Valentine's Day every year. And once you've found your one true love, you can spend the rest of your Valentine's Days together. And like all things, if you do it too much, it will probably get boring in the end anyway.

There will be no one forcing you to act in an overly romantic way, just because it's 'Valentine's Day'. Why is there a day for love, but no day for happiness, or sleep, or food. Those are all equally as important. Or maybe I just haven't got my priorities straight...

But getting back to the point - why is there a specific day just for romantic lovers? Sure, love is a great thing. If you can get hold of it. For the rest of us, Valentine's Day is a day spent wondering why we're loners and seeing nearly every single billboard, television advert and shop go on and on and on about romance. Well, there are other types of love to enjoy - friends and family. Platonic, sibling and parent/child love. And maybe even the love you have with your pet, whatever that type's called.

And finally, understand that you're not the only one - there are plenty of other loners. Like me. I'll be your valentine if you want me to. I mean, look at you! How could anyone deny that?! How about we have our own little date? You, me, on this blog, reading this. There's our little moment. We don't need anyone else.

I love y'all, and I hope you've had a great Valentine's Day, whether you spent it with a special someone or on your wonderful ownsome,

Lots and lots and lots of love, and goodbye! xxx

ANYTHING GOES!

Hi, my dearests!

I watched Anything Goes yesterday! It was so good! I loved You're the Top and Anything Goes especially.

And the tap dancing...phew! I'm so glad I watched it since I'm learning the dance in my lessons, although it was a bit disappointing to see that the dance had been tweaked a little and wasn't exactly the same as the one I'm learning...

Oh well, overall a very very good musical :)

But here's a little naughty something:

I had brought my camera with me, and at the train station, my friend and I went all the way down the station to the very end where the station dips down into gravel. We went to take photos, and we must have gotten too close to the edge...because next thing we know, there's an announcement on the loudspeakers saying:

"CAN THE TWO YOUNG LADIES AT THE END OF THE PLATFORM MOVE AWAY FROM THE EDGE, PLEASE!"

Oh, the mortification! Everyone turned and peered down the platform to stare at us, and at that time our train was due to come so we had to walk back up to our parents anyway. It was so embarrassing. But, I held my head up anyways and stared straight ahead, not meeting anybody's eye.

It was only when I had reached my mum when she told me that I had just barged past another friend of mine, who had been trying to catch my eye the whole time I was making my way up the platform. Why am I the most awkward human being in the whole world? And I'm seeing her tomorrow so...

Ugh, why?!

Anyways, I've got a few random photos I've taken these past two days and I like them, so um...I'll just put them here...

Just a little random photo of my candle and empty-Nutella-jar-with-gold-heart which I painted...

Terrible photo, I know, but it was all I could do before being startled by the announcement :(

Didn't your momma ever tell you it's rude to stare?

I like reflections in puddles...

I love y'all, and goodbye!

JANUARY FAVOURITES

Hi!

Another (half) month has passed, and I'm still struggling to keep up with the way time flies. I imagine myself running laps against the hands of a clock, and they're so fast that they're going in circles around me.

Too deep.

Let's get started eh? Any time now...

Body/skincare:

I've been using Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Moisturiser, as I finished my previous Clean & Clear one. It's much more moisturising and smells absolutely delicious. It also sinks in really quickly, thankfully. The thing I hate the most about smearing liquids and creams onto my face is the feeling of it sticking to your skin, until you just want to scrape it off.

Eck!

Another thing I've mentioned before is Vaseline lip therapy. I love it so much that, if I were Gollum, I would call it 'my preciousssss' and hide it from everyone. I use it every night, as well as whenever my lips get chapped. It's amazing.

And now, there's a pretty vintage design which makes it a hundred times cooler ;)

(My preciousss...)

Fashion:

Tartan winter scarves - I guess it's a 'thing' right now, and it's good. I used to wear plain coloured wooly scarves, but now, I go for my blue tartan scarf. Scarves can brighten up or accessorize any outfit.

I like :)

TV/film:

My nerdy side is coming out - I love QI.

It's a British TV show which I've been into for a while, but recently I've been obsessed. It's mainly the quirky things I love - the weird facts, the cringy jokes, Alan Davies, and the failed experiments. I've been so obsessed that I've watched a few episodes twice already when new ones don't come out quick enough to satisfy me...

Music:

She by Elvis Costello - it's one of my mum's favourite songs, and now I'm sharing her love for it. But maybe that's just a personal thing - I love this song because it reminds me of when I was younger and my mummy used to sing this a lot :)

Run by Vampire Weekend - this is a...different...song. I don't know. At first, I didn't really like it, but now I've warmed up to it and its quirks, and love it.

Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars - of course, what teenager would I be if I didn't like this song? And if you haven't heard this song, then where have you been? I don't feel the need to explain this song, just listen to it and enjoy the funkiness of it all...

Food:

Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream - mmm...

Danone Actimel Original - I've always loved these, especially the original. I love peeling the foil only a little bit so there's a tiny gap, and then squirting it into my mouth.

...and don't you dare snigger and tell me 'that's what she said'...

Moment:

Learning the actual professional tap dance to Anything Goes. I'm still in the process of learning the steps, but I'm getting there, and it's awesome!

And also the time when my friend and I made an electric motor in our physics class. It was apparently quite difficult to make, yet I made it very quickly - let me bask in my glory...

And also the time when my friends and I broke and then fixed a locker. Need I elaborate?

Apps:

Logic Games - I think I might have mentioned this before, I'm not sure. But anyways, it's an app of different puzzles and mini-games. To pass the time I guess, when I'm travelling and I'm bored, I would usually play this.

Elevate - its a brain training app. Dont laugh, I got it when I felt dumb and needed to build up my brain capacity. And actually, it's really addictive. It's got a variety of games which are supposed to improve your brain, but they're really quite fun.

Bicolor - this app is getting popular nowadays. There's different levels in which the aim is to get rid of all the cream squares with coloured ones, but you've only got a certain amount of squares and you cannot jump around, so you can only get rid of adjacent cream squares. Try it out, I'm not good at explaining.

And that's all I'm afraid...

I love yall, and goodbye!
