Happy Holidays!

Hello!

I'm just writing this to wish everyone, wherever you are, a very merry Christmas/Hanukkah! Take this time of the year to relax and meet up with family and friends, and be grateful for everything that you have - I know I definitely take a lot of things for granted!

Have some good food over the holidays (then hide it under a baggy jumper) and above all, enjoy yourself!

Lots of love,

Jasmin

Dance Show

Hiya!

Wow, it feels weird to be back after such a long break!

How are you all? It's strange, I used to write every day, which became every two days, then a week, two weeks, and now...now it's been too long. I'm kinda missing it, though I feel like the pressure's on now for me to write something at least decent!

Haha, don't expect much...

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to talk about this - I was in a dance show last month! It was near the end of February, and it was AMAZING! We spent a full week doing rehearsals before the show, and had a professional photographer in to take photos of us in our full makeup and gorgeous costumes.

I am now a pro at winged eyeliner, and a master of the art of liquid eyeliner without needing makeup remover. Oh, the many many times I had to do it in a hurry... ;)

The show itself was a blast - the slight nerves before each dance, the adrenaline once you're on stage, then the exhilaration after - it was all so perfect. Of course, not all the dances went as well as they could have (ha, let's not mention my matinee tap dance...), but we had so much fun regardless. It was just awesome seeing little toddlers in 'alien' leotards, and the older dancers in neon pantomime costumes, somehow pulling off 2-inch false eyelashes with green glittery tips...

Honestly, this was one of the best things I've done recently. After the show I came out starry-eyed and on a sort of hyper rush, yabbering on about it to my friends and parents. I swear, I wasn't drugged! Just probably drunk on excitement and happiness :D

I loved it, so so much.

Happy New Year

Hiya!

I'm too many hours too late, but hey, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I spent New Year's Eve at my friend's house, watching films, TV, and playing Wii games for 6 hours...

I kept on losing, but it was all about having fun, and I did have fun. I'll just keep telling myself that, and the fact that she had an unfair advantage over me seeing that she'd played them before... ;)

Anyway, we then watched the countdown and the London firework display on TV. They were actually pretty good this year, very colourful, which I like.

Let's hope that 2016 will be an amazing year for everyone (because let's be honest, 2015 was, well, not so good).

I'm not one to make (and definitely not stick to) New Year's resolutions, but this year I plan to be in control of my own happiness and generally have a better outlook on life. I know that I need to work hard to be happy in the long term, but I'll definitely focus on staying happy in the short term too.

Anyone made any resolutions? I hope they last long ;)

With that said -

LET 2016 BE OURS!!

Christmas Eve

Hiya!

Merry Christmas Eve! Are you all looking forward to tomorrow?

I'm so excited!

(Mostly for the TV though, let's be honest...)

I've been listening to Christmas music all day today, prepping myself for tomorrow's craziness. Sadly we won't be having that White Christmas, just rain and wind here :(

Well, hope you're all having a jolly time!

Black Jeans

Hiya!

No photo today I'm afraid, I didn't have the chance to turn my computer on where the photos I've already selected are kept - I've been busy learning dance routines for a show coming up next year ;)

It's so much easier blogging from my computer *sigh*...there's easy access to photos, editing tools, autosave...

Anyway, I have other news.

I went shopping yesterday, just at my local high street, and bought a pair of black jeans!

You have no idea how happy I am. In my entire (not very long) life, I've only ever worn blue jeans. I've got five pairs right now, and that's all. I just couldn't pull off any other colour, and blue suited me the best. They still do look the most flattering, but a girl can't survive on just blue jeans for her whole life!

Black is supposed to be the universal colour which anyone can wear and look good in, but black jeans on me make me look shorter and wider, I don't understand why.

The struggle is real.

And so finally finding a pair of black jeans from M&S that didn't make me look like a stout dwarf was the best thing ever. They're also very comfy and stretchy, and I got a 20% discount :)

Finally. Black jeans.

❤️

I love you

Surprise Party was a SUCCESS!!

Hiya!

For weeks now, my friends and I have been planning a surprise birthday party for our friend.

And it was a complete success! Through lying, hiding, sneaking around and awkward moments, we threw an amazing party which she had absolutely no clue about! :)

I've never thrown a party like this before, and it made me feel so grown up. There was so much organising that we had to do - we created a collage of photos which we had to stalk her for, bought food and decorations, baked a birthday cake, and even planned exactly how we were going to get her to come and how exactly we were going to surprise her. Which took a lot of hardcore pen-on-paper, drawing out a blueprint, and practising to perfect ;)

And we made her a present of 'open when...' cards, because she refused to accept gifts, although "cards were okay". We all wrote a few cards ourselves, and also did some group ones.

She'd better not cheat and open them at the wrong times!!

Strawberries and cream cake :)

On the day of the party, we set out the snacks and decorated the room with banners and balloons (we even hung them from the lights). We got cameras ready, got into our positions and when she arrived...we jumped out at her with party poppers!

It was fantastic.

And we spent the rest of the day dancing and singing like we were drunk, even though all we'd had was J2O...

It was so fun! And amazing, and awesome, and brilliant!

Welcome to Night Vale Live Show!

Hiya!

Last night was amazing ;)

I went to London to watch the Welcome to Night Vale (a quirky and intriguing podcast I love) show with some friends, and I honestly had the best time of my life. All the voices I'd only ever heard on the podcast became real and were standing right in front of me, and I could see them interact with each other whilst talking.

The audience interaction was amazing too, we were told to do things that only Cecil can tell us to do, strange, strange things with strangers and friends...

There were people there in cosplay - a woman looked amazing in her costume and sat right behind us, and we talked to her and her friends. They were crazy (but aren't we all?!) <3

I couldn't stop smiling, even through the live music and deep parts, and for an hour after on the way back home. My cheeks hurt so much but I just couldn't stop, I'd had too much fun :D

I love Welcome to Night Vale so much...

Check it out if you haven't already, the link to their site is on these hearts to show how much I love it: ♥♥♥

All the episodes can be found on YouTube (as well as loads of other places too): ♥♥♥

Photos will come up soon in another post!

Another YouTuber Comes Out!

Hiya!

Another YouTuber has come out! This is Ingrid Nilsen - someone I've been subscribed to for some time now, and who I look up to for skin advise. I also love her fashion videos where she shows some of the chicest outfits ever, and her GIY (Glam It Yourself) tutorials, although I'm always too lazy to try them out.

This was a surprise, to be honest, a pleasant one, but still very surprising. It's so rare to have women come out as gay on YouTube and the Internet. I feel like now every single hot guy on YouTube is gay, whilst all the girls are straight...

But anyway, when I first saw the video, I swear my heart stopped, as it seems to do for all these sorts of videos now. I stare at my screen, mouth wide open, silently (or not silently) screaming and having 'Ohhhhhh Myyyyyyyy Goooooooood' running through my head. The joys of being me...

The video was so lovely and made me cry and feel sad, then really happy. I'm just glad Ingrid can truly be herself and has found the courage to come out...so inspirational :)

And something she wrote in her video description:

We all deserve our best chance.

I love y'all, and goodbye!

Helping People

Hiya!

A few days ago, I helped a woman out. She got on the bus I was on and was asking the bus driver if he knew a certain road that I shall not name.

You'll be able to stalk me otherwise ;)

Anyways, the bus driver said he didn't recognise the road, and the woman clearly in distress started panicking. She said she'd missed her plane (from her accent, I guess she was American) and had only just arrived in England for the first time. She was told by her friend to go to this road, and to take this bus there, but not where to get off.

And if there's one thing you should know about me, I can't stand seeing other people upset. And she seemed like such a lovely lady, I just had to help.

So whilst everyone else on the bus was giving her the evils for holding it up, I went up to her and told her that I knew where her road was and that it was near to where I get off.

Her relief on her face when I told her this made me feel so good! I honestly felt like I was the kindest person in the world. She was so happy, and knowing that I was the person who made her happy is the best thing.

This is where I could start preaching about helping others and 'giving is better than receiving', but I'm not one for preaching and telling others what to do. But helping others is good - helping that woman made my day. So I dunno, maybe if your friend needs help, give them a hand.

Yep, I'm officially terrible at preaching.

I love y'all, but especially you <3

LONELY ON VALENTINE'S DAY?

Well, hello!

So...it's Valentine's Day. Are you sharing this love-filled day with your one and only? Have you given your roses? Been invited on a romantic date? If you have, then...

Good for you. Whatever. Congrats, I guess.

*Sigh*

Anyone joining me in the loners club?

You know, being alone today isn't too bad:

Well firstly, if you're by yourself, all that food that would have been shared, goes completely to you! So you get to stuff your face, and without the fear of someone staring at you whilst you greedily eat everything.

You can also do so much more - there's no need to spend the time to prepare a meal or go out on a date. Us singletons are so productive, whether it's reading, doing a hobby, pampering yourself, or obsessively watching films and videos all day, you can still get a lot of stuff done.

You can check people out without feeling like your cheating. And that includes drooling over 'hot boys' you've searched for on the Internet. Which is another thing you can to do if you're single and free to mingle ;)

There's no drama - no chance of catching the drama disease, a contagious illness which effects couples everywhere. I've heard the symptoms are screaming, shouting and crying over nothing, and in some worse cases, a breakup. Dun dun DUN!

After today, guess what? There'll be another Valentine's Day next year, and another, and another. There's a Valentine's Day every year. And once you've found your one true love, you can spend the rest of your Valentine's Days together. And like all things, if you do it too much, it will probably get boring in the end anyway.

There will be no one forcing you to act in an overly romantic way, just because it's 'Valentine's Day'. Why is there a day for love, but no day for happiness, or sleep, or food. Those are all equally as important. Or maybe I just haven't got my priorities straight...

But getting back to the point - why is there a specific day just for romantic lovers? Sure, love is a great thing. If you can get hold of it. For the rest of us, Valentine's Day is a day spent wondering why we're loners and seeing nearly every single billboard, television advert and shop go on and on and on about romance. Well, there are other types of love to enjoy - friends and family. Platonic, sibling and parent/child love. And maybe even the love you have with your pet, whatever that type's called.

And finally, understand that you're not the only one - there are plenty of other loners. Like me. I'll be your valentine if you want me to. I mean, look at you! How could anyone deny that?! How about we have our own little date? You, me, on this blog, reading this. There's our little moment. We don't need anyone else.

I love y'all, and I hope you've had a great Valentine's Day, whether you spent it with a special someone or on your wonderful ownsome,

Lots and lots and lots of love, and goodbye! xxx
