Outdoor Fun!

Hiya!

I've been away recently, I spent the last week in Devon, doing all sorts of outdoorsy activities with the NCS The Challenge programme. There are three parts to this programme, the first of which I've completed.

I was pretty excited, to begin with, and it didn't disappoint. We did rock climbing and scrambling (climbing uphill over rocks and boulders) in Dartmoor on the first day. And by 'rock climbing' I'm not talking about a vertical wall with colourful lumps sticking out, I'm talking about actual rock and actual dips and grooves for hand and footholds. I reached the top on both climbs, and one was really hard, so I'm pretty chuffed with that ;)

On the second day, we hiked roughly 18 km, which sounds bad but it wasn't actually. We stayed along the same flat path with loads of shade, and even had ice-cream!

When we arrived at the camp-site we all helped cook pasta with tomato sauce and fresh veggies. It turned out surprisingly nice, considering we were cooking it over a small hob in a horse van. Later at night though, we slept five to a tent, which was really small and we were all squished together with no space to move. I guess you can't have everything, but it was alright. The stars were amazing, too.

The next day, we did water activities in a nearby lake. There was raft building in the morning, where a pretty impressive raft was made from just four barrels, logs, and rope. We then went canoeing, which turned into an afternoon of everyone trying to capsize each other and general messing about. After, we took our raft into the lake, and all thirteen of us sat on it together. It was kinda a fail, and I ended up literally sitting in the water up to my waist. But, it held together well, which I'm proud of.

Anyway, though it was all fun and exciting, I'm really tired now from all that. This week, I'm off again for the second part of The Challenge so you won't be hearing from me until next weekend.

Goodbye!

Playing Games and Hanging with Friends

Hiya!

I didn't update about Presentable Liberty like I said I would, but I did play it yesterday.

[SPOILERS BELOW!]

I chose differently and ended up dying. So I wonder if one ending is better than the other? It seems that you can either live but are forced to see your friend's death (and not learn the truth!) or die without having to see the death note and learn the true reason for it all.

I found the first option more emotionally traumatising, to be honest. I hated seeing my friend's blood all over the walls...

I also played the prequel, Exoptable Money. And just like Presentable Liberty, it was also horrible. Although it takes ages to get the story going (a few hours are needed to play this game) and it's not as refined.

Not good for me mentally and emotionally, and if you know what happens, then you'll understand why, but it's still good.

Check it out if you want to here :)

I've had an obsession with indie games recently. So to cheer myself up, I played Cookie Clicker! Oh my what a waste of my boring life... I kept it on for six hours yesterday, building up so many cookies, buying more portals and time machines.

So addictive...

❤️

And today, I went shopping in London with friends! I wasn't really productive, returning back home with only a box of cakes.

Cakes are life though, so I believe it was a worthwhile trip.

We went to Oxford Street, including Hamleys where I became overwhelmed with all the wonderfulness, had lunch in Chiquito in Leicester Square (very nice) and bought the aforementioned cakes from Chinatown. Then we explored the Disney shop in Covent Garden where my heart melted because of the tsum-tsums, and was dragged to a stall and given a free nail stamp in the market.

The stamp looks nice and all, but it doesn't really match my other nails...

Anyway, today was really fun.

But I'm so tired now, and it's late.

❤️

I love yall

Goodbye!

It Wreaks Havoc With My Emotions!

Hiya!

I've been chilling lately - catching up on YouTube, reading on Wattpad, re-watching The Princess Diaries for literally the tenth time.

I think I've been in denial about this film. I've been telling myself that I like it only as much as I like Mulan or Evan Almighty, or other chick flicks such as Wild Child. But I realised today when I suddenly really wanted to watch it again (and ignored a long list of films I've been meaning to watch for ages), that I'm obsessed.

I now admit, I think The Princess Diaries is my favourite film.

Anyway, I stepped my game up in an effort to relieve myself of boredom when YouTube just wasn't enough and played Presentable Liberty today.

Such a good game, a very awesome and different game, but so bad for my emotions!

You start in a prison cell, and you'll receive letters and read them, and it goes on for ages. And then you start depending on the letters...but then the ending comes...and oh my.

I need a hug now, it was terribly sad :(

There's also an alternative ending, I'm going to play it again tomorrow to check it out.

Play along if you want to, links here. Word of advice, it takes 45 minutes to an hour, and you cannot save during the game. So it would be best if you have an hour to spare and play it in one go :)

Enjoy!

Work Experience, Vaccinations and Another Birthday

Hiya!

I finished my work experience! I was at my dentist's for the last two weeks, just sitting in the corner and observing since I'm not allowed to do anything. But it was so good, and I loved it. The staff are so kind and lovely, they're like my new second family. I'm kinda sad that it's over.

Anyway, more on work experience in another post.

Also today, I had the first jab of three for the HPV vaccination. So I don't get cervical cancer when I have sex, which will not be in a loooooooong time. At the time it only stung a little bit, but now it aches like hell, and I really just want to rip my arm off :(

And happy birthday to another one of my friends! She had a party in which twenty or so of her friends were invited, and I don't know the majority of them as they're all older. But I sort of just went over to give her her present and ended up staying for four hours. It was awkward at first, but then I got to know some of them and it was really fun. One of them even hugged me when she left even though she barely talked to me...but I think she was a bit hyper...

Took me by surprise, is all.

So, I literally spent the whole day outside today, from 8:30 in the morning to go to work experience until 8:30 in the evening coming back from my friend's house.

And I'm now exhausted.

❤️

#TheQueue

Hiya!

I went to Wimbledon last week (for the tennis, of course) with my friends!

I know I'm so late with uploading, but I just never had the chance to properly sit down and write about it, and then later I did more stuff so it got pushed back even more.

Anyway, it was really exciting, though we queued from 3 pm to 6:30 pm, of which two whole hours was spent in the glaring sun (I got a sticker to prove it!). We stuck out umbrellas and annoyed everyone around us by poking them in their backs every time we moved. The pastas we had bought for dinner also exploded, so there was oil and tomato sauce everywhere. It was a mess.

Once we got in, we checked out some of the open courts which we didn't need to queue for, but us being short, we couldn't really see anything.

So then we went to court 3, where Madison Keys was playing against Stefanie Voegele. It was good, quite close, though I think Keys was a tad more powerful and so ended up winning. Sadly I didn't watch the end, as their match went on until almost 10 pm, so had to be suspended until the next day or whenever.

On a side note, the ball girls and boys are so cute! They're adorably stiff and emotionless but as soon as they need to move they're so quick!

We finished off our trip by going to Henman Hill briefly, where we awkwardly sat between the legs of those sitting on the picnic tables on either side.

Wimbledon was fun. Maybe not the queuing, but I guess that was just part of the experience. We got a feel for the 'atmosphere', sat on Henman Hill and walked alongside thousands to the train station at the end of the day.

Goodbye!

Birthday Celebrations and Peterborough Adventures

Hiya!

The next few posts are going to be in a strange order. I've got events from over two weeks ago to write about (and most probably bore you with), but if I do them in chronological order I won't be able to talk to you about the most recent stuff, which I feel are the most important. It makes me think we can connect more if I talk about things that happened a few hours ago rather than a few weeks ago... I don't know, it might just be me.

But I do want to tell you about my past weeks because they've been really fun and exciting. Though at this rate, with all this blabbering, I won't even be able to finish this post...

Today is my friend's birthday! We celebrated yesterday by shopping and having dinner in a restaurant which played We Are Young four times in 2 1/2 hours. Good song, but a bit too much maybe?

Though the restaurant's obsession with that song was nothing compared to the 'classiness'  of our eating. We had straws in wine glasses, knives in sundaes, and the remaining content of our mocktails tipped into various empty bowls to try to reach the blueberries.

We were dining like cavemen. Thank goodness there was no one around except the waitress, even though I think it was us ourselves who were responsible for keeping the people away.

Anyway, as well as it being my friend's birthday, I also went to Peterborough today with my parents. Just a day trip, adventuring in another city. The journey was long and not so pleasant, to be honest.  There was an incident with our train tickets and a couple of terribly rude men, which nearly resulted in us having to turn back. But we didn't do anything wrong, so whatever.

In Peterborough, we did loads of shopping, had dinner in Pizza Express and explored the city's cathedral. We weren't allowed inside, but it was really pretty from the outside regardless.

Annoying scaffolding >:(

Just added this in for the wonky window /=/=/=/

It's late now and I'm tired so...

Toodles!
