SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES

Wow. It's now October, the month which reminds me of falling leaves, colder days, Halloween, and America's addiction to pumpkin spice latte, and pumpkin spice stuff.

I hate to say this, but I've never tried anything pumpkin spice before. Of course, I've had the actual squash-like plant itself, but never anything...else... I honestly don't have a very big opinion on this matter, but I find it hilarious that nearly everything in America is now pumpkin spice flavoured, or scented.

Anyways, the first Saturday of October also marks the time of another favourites post from me.

So, without further ado...

Song:

My favourite song changes nearly all the time...but right now it's 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' by The Script. It's old, but it's so gorgeous!

Food:

Surprisingly, apples. I don't know why, but I've absolutely loved apples this past month. I actually never used to like apples, it wouldn't be one of my first fruit choices, but now... I'm kinda starting to warm up to it ;)

Person:

Hmm... Zoella probably. It's just so amazing that's she's got her own beauty range and has more than 6 million subscribers on YouTube. I'm not the sort of person to write reams and reams of congratulatory phrases and post it on whatever social media I can lay my hand on, and it's the same here. I'll try my best, but all I can say is that I'm so so so proud of her, she's amazing, and I wish my life can be as awesome as hers xxx

App:

There's an app called 'Piano Tiles', which is basically a really simple game where you have to tap all the black tiles as they go down the screen. It's got nothing to do with actual skill on the piano and it's really addicting... go check it out! The arcade mode is my personal favourite ;)

Book:

'Airman', by Eoin Colfer. I've read it a few times before, and I've read it again recently. It's an old book, published in 2007, and I think the first time I read it was 2 or 3 years ago, but it's got the most wonderful storyline and characters. Loads of unexpected things happen, which keeps it entertaining, and it's written so that it's really easy to understand, even though it's a sort of historical fiction novel. I think this is my second favourite novel of all time, after The 'Song of Achilles', of course ;)

Oh, and if you like Eoin Colfer, check out the 'Artemis Fowl' series by him. They're children's books, which makes them really fun - plus, it's adventure and fantasy, and really funny - what's not to love?

That's all folks! They were some of my favourites from the past month of September, and some recommendations were thrown in alongside. There wasn't much, I know, but I haven't exactly got the most interesting life where I encounter different things each day, so nothing much changes...meaning not many new favourites each month...

Anyways, is anyone excited for Autumn?

I have mixed feelings - for example, I like the sound of crunchy leaves, but I don't particularly like it when they're wet and soggy from the rain that's always present in England, especially in Autumn. I'm also not a very big fan of the cold...I can never be bothered to layer myself up into a giant marshmallow, so I end up just wearing my pyjamas inside a onesie...

Though I'm really looking forward to upcoming parties - namely Halloween and my friend's birthday. There are two sides to everything, I guess.

I love y'all so much

Goodbye xxx

JUNE FAVOURITES

Hiya my gorgeous peepsicles! As I mentioned a month ago, I'm thinking of doing monthly favourites, just as something different to my normal blogging. So without further ado, here you go, my favourite things of June...

Food: Waitrose 'Rich & nutty Belgian chocolate chunk & hazelnut all butter cookies'. Woah that's a mouthful. But it is literally what the packaging says, it's got the most delicious chocolate chip chunks, and it's so buttery and rich. However, I kinda hate it right now as well, because I can't help eating it, even though I told myself I need to stop eating sugary sweet foods. Though that didn't stop me from eating a whole packet of Starbursts today so...oops?

Film: There are two films I've really enjoyed this month, and they are How to Train Your Dragon and The Fault in our Stars, unsurprisingly judging by the number of times I've mentioned them. TFIOS is really popular right now (and rightly so), I don't want to give away too much, but it's got cancer, happy moments, cute moments, and seriously sad moments, AKA half the film. The storyline is amazing (and just like the book, for those of you who've read it) and it really showed me how my problems, such as not having any more chocolate or being annoyed that the wifi is turned off, are really really really insignificant and unimportant. I mean, even though it's a fiction, it's still got loads of truth in it.
And HTTYD is just plain adorable, there are no other words for it. I want my own Night Fury now :(

Makeup: Bourjois Color Boost in the shade Peach on the Beach. I've had it for a while now, but seeing that I don't really wear makeup, I haven't worn it in a while. But last week I was going through all my lip things, and I put a bit on, and omg I'm in love with it again. It's pink, but its a really subtle colour, sometimes almost the same shade as my natural lip colour. But that's what I love about it, it stands out, but doesn't look like I'm overdoing it. Also, apparently it's waterproof, lasts 10 hours, and has SPF15. Which is great.

Clothing: I've got a clear favourite in terms of clothing for June. For about half the month, whenever there wasn't school, I literally wore the same outfit, as long as no one saw me in it twice. And not only going out quite a lot in June, I also met loads of people...so I had plenty of excuses to wear it again and again... Basically, it's skinny jeans, light grey camisole, and a candy pink winged jumper (I think that's what it's called...) Don't judge, but I wore it for about 4 days in a row once...I'm disgusting...

Anyways, that's all for today. I went to one of our family friends' house today for a BBQ (I seem to be having a lot of those recently), but we had to drive for ages to get there and then get back, so I'm so sleepy. And I was wearing wedges, and trust me, even though they're not as bad as heels, it's still hard to run after a 6-year-old kid in them.

So toodles, love y'all, bye! xxx

COMIC CON MAY 2014!

Comic Con was so fricking amazing! It was so fun, so much to see, to buy, to do, and everything else comic/anime/manga/tv/film/gaming related!
I had to wake up at 6:15 am so that there would be time to get ready and dye my hair blue before leaving to meet my friends at 7:30 am. Although I kinda snoozed for about 15 minutes...so I ended up with a sort of streaked dip-dyed hair effect, only the ends of my ponytail were spray-dyed, and not done very well either. Anyways, at least I had a bit of blue in my hair! We arrived at the centre, ExCel centre in London, and after getting kinda lost we then had to wait in the queue for nearly an hour, in the rain.
Anyways enough about the boring stuff, let's move on. We got inside and I was so excited, there was so much to look at. There were so many people in cosplay too, including two of my friends, one as Castiel (Supernatural) and the other as Holly Short (Artemis Fowl). Whilst there, I freaked out, and decided to get photos with loads of cool cosplayers!
At Comic Con, I bought a few badges and an adorable Totoro hat! We wandered around, my friends and I, for about 6 hours! By the end, we were shattered and our feet and legs were aching so much, and we kept on having to stop and sit down. So at around 4pm, we decided to leave the amazingness of Comic Con and begin our journey home.
We took the underground and, as you know, I was really tired, so I was half falling asleep. This is embarrassing, but I was sitting next to a random woman, and I almost fell asleep on her shoulder! I literally leaned against her but luckily I think the carriage jolted, so I woke up suddenly and that was when I realised I was against someone's shoulder... Thank god it was only for a split second, and that woman got off at the next stop. She probably got off because she wanted to get away from me to be honest...oops lol.
Anyways, I'm really really really tired, so bye!! Xxx

HAVING FUN AT BOX HILL!

Hello, people of today!! So this post is just going to be about catching up with random things in my life that I may have missed telling you guys, and also about my day, obviously.
Today, I went to Box Hill. It's a pretty little area in the North Downs and there's a river which I nearly fell into:

Anyways, we spent a few hours there, it was so fun and so gorgeous! In my geography class, I'm going to be doing a 20 hour controlled assessment on it, so we'll see if that opinion changes or not. But yeah that was the main reason why I wanted to go there, and it was a chance for family bonding time!

Whilst on our little hike around Box Hill, we also saw tons of kids doing their Duke of Edinburgh expedition which brought back memories of when I did it. But I swear when my friends and I did it last year it was the worst time possible! The practise expedition we did was when it was basically snowing, and the the actual expedition was done on the hottest days of the year!
So that's what happened today!
