Welcome to Night Vale Live Show!

Hiya!

Last night was amazing ;)

I went to London to watch the Welcome to Night Vale (a quirky and intriguing podcast I love) show with some friends, and I honestly had the best time of my life. All the voices I'd only ever heard on the podcast became real and were standing right in front of me, and I could see them interact with each other whilst talking.

The audience interaction was amazing too, we were told to do things that only Cecil can tell us to do, strange, strange things with strangers and friends...

There were people there in cosplay - a woman looked amazing in her costume and sat right behind us, and we talked to her and her friends. They were crazy (but aren't we all?!) <3

I couldn't stop smiling, even through the live music and deep parts, and for an hour after on the way back home. My cheeks hurt so much but I just couldn't stop, I'd had too much fun :D

I love Welcome to Night Vale so much...

Check it out if you haven't already, the link to their site is on these hearts to show how much I love it: ♥♥♥

All the episodes can be found on YouTube (as well as loads of other places too): ♥♥♥

Photos will come up soon in another post!

Claremont Landscape Garden & Garsons Pick Your Own

Hiya!

Today's been great:

1) it's the Chinese Moon Festival,
2) there's a SUPER BLOOD MOON later on today/early tomorrow,
3) it's been all round busy and fun, visiting places and eating out

I went to Claremont, a National Trust garden with a pond surrounded by landscaped gardens, including an amphitheatre landscaped from a hill.

It was nice but quite small. If you've seen my Cornwall posts on Stourhead or Lanhydrock, I'll tell you that Claremont is like a patch of grass compared to them.

Anyway, we then went to Garsons Farm, to go fruit and veggie (and flower) picking. The dahlias there are lovely at the moment, as are the raspberries and apples.

Jack's magic beans! Mwahahahahah!

❤️

You can tell I had fun with filters ;)

NCS Last Day

Hiya!

I've finished NCS! Yesterday we had our last social action day, on which we did our campaign.

It was in the middle of a not so busy park, so nothing really happened...

But, I got to hang out with friends :)

The wonder of filters ;)

Since I've completed The Challenge, there'll be a graduation ceremony coming up soon...

I've really enjoyed The Challenge. I've made some great friends and been through loads of exciting experiences, which I would never have done without it.

It's been awesome!

Classics Lecture & Train Station Photos

Hiya!

I went to a classics lecture today, about prostitutes and players!

Fun fun ;)

It was actually quite interesting, and funny. Tom Holland was the speaker, who was engaging and clearly loved his topic.

But anyway, here are some photos of the train station I waited at for one and a half hours...

Cool shadows!

Today's Photo:

That sums up British weather pretty nicely...

Could this daily photo thing I'm doing carry on?

Maybe...

Anyway, I just had a killer dance lesson, my legs have been murdered.

Sleeping Burrito

Hiya!

Whelp. I went out for dinner last night with family friends, dressed sort of smart and with a touch of makeup.

The food was very nice, by the way.

But when I got home, I decided (stupidly) to lie down for a bit, because I was a bit tired.

This little rest turned out to be a whole nights sleep.

So last night I passed out in my coat and a statement necklace, on my duvet, with the sides wrapped on top of me.

Like a burrito :)

It was very comfy surprisingly, and I didn't need to change in the morning :D

But still... It was very strange to wake up like this...

Anyway, I don't know the actual reason for this post.

6 Month Favourites...

Hiya!

Wow, haven't done one of these in a while...

Enjoy!

Body/skincare:

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser - I'd heard good things about this product, and by chance my friend, who didn't use it any more, had a bottle which she gave to me. I love the thin consistency and the fact that it's non-sticky and feels amazing to put on. I've had this for a while now (almost half a year, it was in a May favourites draft!) and have finished the bottle - got to get a new one soon :)

Zoella Candy Cream Body Lotion - I love Zoella, and for a fan, I've been pretty late in purchasing one of her products. But I got this, and I am obsessed. It smells so good, it's moisturising but not thick, it feels wonderful to put on ( it has pink bursting beads!), it's got fruit extracts, the packaging is gorgeous...

Makeup:

Bourjois Khol and Contour Eye Pencil - I don't have much knowledge on eyeliner, except for the L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim (which is amazing, and I believe I've mentioned it before) and this Bourjois Khol and Contour pencil, but I can tell you it's good. Compared to others, I don't know, but it draws a dark line without needing to press too hard and lasts a good time considering my oily complexion. I wouldn't suggest wearing this in hot weather (I wouldn't suggest eye pencils for hot weather at all), but it's perfect for England so I'm happy.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick in 05 - I'm a big fan of lipstick - I think it can smarten up any look, complete an outfit, or even change your whole face. And I've had enough fails with lipsticks which don't suit my skin tone... 05 is gorgeous though, it's a darkish hot pink (does that make sense?) which doesn't make me look like a zombie or ghost. The opposite actually, I didn't think it was possible, but I look like I have a slight blush. Strange...

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Warm Medium 3 - My lifesaver. It's an amazing concealer with great coverage and blends wonderfully. Although it doesn't match my skin tone perfectly, with a little bit of blending it basically disappears, yet still conceals blemishes extremely well. My mum is also now obsessed with it, going so far as to steal it from me...

TV/film:

Until Dawn - Ok, this is a video game, but I don't have a section for it and this is the best... Hear me out - I don't actually play it, I like watching other people play it, like TV. It's a survival horror game, and I've been obsessed with watching Markiplier and Pewdiepie playing it. It's like watching a horror series on TV but it changes depending on who you watch playing it, and you get hilarious reactions from the gamers. This is all I've been watching on YouTube recently, and I think I'm going to start Jacksepticeye's...

Music:

All Time Low, Therapy

The Killers, Human - My friend told me about The Killers and Twenty One Pilots, and said I would like them. I very much do. Human is one of my favourite songs, and it's one of those songs which will stay a favourite for a very long time <3

The Killers, Neon Tiger

Twenty One Pilots, Tear In My Heart - I've had this song in my head for days, it's my favourite song at the moment.

Twenty One Pilots, House of Gold

Food:

Walkers MixUps Crisps - The sweet/spicy popcorn one is my favourite...it's self-explanatory, and so good.

White chocolate with raspberry pieces - Not everyone's cup of tea (or 'bar of chocolate', should I say), but one of my favourites nonetheless. It's a perfect combination - white chocolate (I love!) and raspberry to make me feel better about myself for eating half a bar, even though the truth is still terrible.

Moment:

Sleepover with friends - This was way back in June, but it really was the best ever.

Rock climbing and canoeing - The highlight of the first week of the NCS Challenge. I felt so proud of myself :)

Place:

Sainte Chapelle, Paris - This place is amazing. So gorgeous and colourful, and the photos I took really didn't do it justice at all. I think the problem with only seeing photos is that you can't feel the atmosphere and the whole experience of coming up a dark spiral staircase into a coloured airy room. It was breathtaking.

Golden Gate Cake Shop, London - For somewhere a little closer to home, there's a really good Chinese cake shop in London Chinatown. I've been going to this bakery for years, and it's still as good as ever. I recommend the triangle cake and custard bun ;)

Book:

Andy Weir, The Martian - This book is so clever. It's a sci-fi about a man who is stranded on Mars and needs to survive until rescue. The writing is informal though, so it's not all complicated nerdy talk, it's actually hilarious. Weir has also done the research, and you can tell that through Mark Watney's solutions to problems, which are so cool and clever. Also, the film's coming out soon, so now would be a great time to read it :D

Apps:

Duet - a fun little game where you control two paintballs on a wheel and you have to turn them around obstacles. There's a slight plot, and it's simple and rewarding, but frustrating when you can't get past a level, which ultimately gets you even more stuck because you have to stay calm. But it's so addictive and has a lovely soundtrack, and though I'm currently stuck, I'm still playing it too much.

This became very long...

I hope you enjoyed it, and check out some of the stuff I've mentioned.

I love you

The Chronicles of Narnia

Hiya!

Yep, I watched The Chronicles of Narnia today, the whole trilogy, with friends.

And chocolates and crisps and fizzy drinks and pizza...

Can't forget our sustenance ;)

The films were very good - the first is a classic, the second suspenseful and the third ties it all in perfectly.

The third was my personal favourite. I love the character development where they have to overcome their temptations and the bitter-sweet ending which was a strange-but-nice mixture of happy and sad.

I also cannot forget about Caspian and Edmund, who I 'ship so hard' they're on a powerboat in my mind.

Powerboating away into the sunset, staring deeply into each other's eyes.

Is that even possible?

Well, I'm a teenage girl, so sue me for being one and shipping film/book characters...

But they're just so adorable cute! <3

Plans for the Future (and Me, Earl and the Dying Girl)

Hiya!

Just a quick update here, to tell tales of my past week...

The most boring tales ever, that's for sure.

School has started, la-de-da.

I'm not saying schools been boring, it's just that apart from school nothing else has happened. And you don't want to read about school here, am I right?

Anyway, I'll probably get back to monthly favourites after a very very long Summer hiatus, and possibly attempt (and most likely fail at) writing a few posts about the wonderful things that I enjoy. Just for something different, rather than lacklustre update posts broken up by more lacklustre favourite posts.

So, moving on to the film.

I watched Me, Earl and the Dying Girl a few days ago (as you can tell from the title...). And now I feel obliged to write something about it, it's become a sort of tradition on here.

It was alright, I guess. Maybe I had high expectations, or maybe I've become numb to films (though I did cry in this one) but I found it just alright. It was very much like The Fault in Our Stars, in that there was the same theme of a dying person and their new friend, and the way the people's lives change due to the other. It may be bad timing or not, but it was a bit too similar.

And of course with TFIOS becoming such a big thing, this may have been a good thing- the first was a great success, the second should also be.

Personally though,

-well, you know what I'm going to say-

I thought it was alright.

Paris Adventures Day 6 (17/8/15) - Les Invalides

Hiya!

This is the last Paris post :(

I feel like my holiday is ending all over again...

Before leaving, I visited one last place, L'Hotel national des Invalides (or just Les Invalides). It's a bunch of buildings which include several museums on French military history, a cathedral, and the actual living quarters of war veterans.

To put it simply, it's all about war.

'Cavalerie'
Also just realised there's a spot on the right which I didn't see when editing....oh well :\

Inside the cathedral.
It was very nice, all airy and soft music playing...

BOOM!
...shakalaka...

A cool museum shot ;)

Paris Adventures Day 5 (16/8/15) - Visiting Everything

Hiya!

Day five was...busy. I went to all the touristy places there was to go and travelled all around Paris. And with great 'touristing', comes great photos.

Or at least a great amount of photos - knock yourself out ;)

Sacre-Coeur

Views from the top :)

Sainte-Chapelle

The most amazing stained-glass windows...

Notre-Dame

Also has very amazing windows

Jardin du Luxembourg (Luxembourg Garden)

Pantheon
(The Paris one!)

Down the spiral staircase to...

The crypt where Marie and Pierre Curie lie (among others) <3

Centre Georges Pompidou
The famous coloured pipes

I just thought this photo was very 'cool' - taken in front of the Pompidou :)

These remind me of teeth with cavities...

Oh, this? This is only the best painting in the whole wide world.
What do you mean 'why'? I know it's not much to look at but-
It's called 'Achilles Mourning the Death of Patroclus'...
It makes my fangirling heart ache and squeal simultaneously.

This is a cute room :)

Caterpillar!

Ok sooo...you're open?
